Magic The Gathering 2020 Release – Theros: Beyond Death, Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths, Core Set 2021, and Zendikar Rising

Magic The Gathering has announced it’s 2020 set releases and I couldn’t be more excited!

Today on Magic’s Twitch channel, Mark Rosewater (Magic’s head designer), revealed four upcoming 2020 sets.

1. Theros – Beyond Death

Following Throne of Eldraine, Theros will be released in the Winter of 2020. Making our way to Theros’s underworld and getting to where the Planeswalker Elspeth Tirel has resided since the end of the original Theros story.

2. Ikoria – Lair of Behemoths

Ikoria Lair of Behemoths

After the adventure to Theros, we’ll see the new plane of Ikoria in the Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths set, releasing in the Spring of 2020. Adventuring through Ikoria will focus on playing and making monsters, an interesting dynamic to say the least.

3. Core Set 2021

Core Set 2021 Magic The Gathering

Focusing on Teferi, the Core Set 2021 will be released in the summer. While not everyone will be a huge fan of Teferi, it will still be an interesting move and I look forward to it!

4. Zendikar Rising

Zendikar Rising Magic Release Date

The end of 2020 in the Fall will bring the release of Zendikar Rising. Returning to Zendikar when all Eldrazi are gone, players get to enjoy a favorite adventure plane guaranteed to entertain!
